Assisi and Gubbio: walking in the Umbrian Middle Ages

Pick-up the rental car at Roma Fiumicino parking station and/or arrival airport. Accommodation in the hotel and then visit the main basilicas: the Basilica of San Francesco, the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Porziuncola and the Basilica of Santa Chiara. Free lunch and afternoon tour to discover the Temple of Minerva and the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo. Free dinner with possibility to eat in Braceria with grilled meat and excellent pizzas. Return to the hotel for overnight.

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Piazza del Comune of Assisi, the Torre del Popolo and the Palazzo dei Priori. Free lunch and afternoon to discover the Cathedral of San Rufino, the Palazzo Vallemani and the Pinacoteca Comunale. After a free dinner, with the possibility of eating in a tavern in the heart of Assisi with local products where a plate with umbricelli, honey and bruschetta accompanied by the exceptional local oil opens the meal. Return to hotel for overnight stay  

After breakfast, transfer to Gubbio. Visit of Piazza Grande, Palazzo dei Consoli, Palazzo Pretorio, Palazzo Ducale and Palazzo del Bargello. Free lunch with the possibility to eat in a characteristic restaurant located in the historic center where you can find an atmosphere of a medieval village. Free afternoon to discover the Cathedral of Gubbio and walk along the streets of the center for shopping and relaxation. Return to Assisi for free dinner and overnight in the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and day dedicated to individual visits. In the late afternoon release of the car at Roma Fiumicino parking station and /or other departure airport.
